Our residences have a range of features and benefits for you to enjoy.


All our bedrooms:

  • Are fully furnished, including a bed, desk, cupboards, drawers, shelves and a chair
  • Have a mattress and mattress protector, but you'll need to bring your own sheets, blankets and pillows
  • Include a data point and phones are available on request
  • Have a lockable cupboard to store your personal items if you're heading off campus for session break.

Rooms in self-catered accommodation contain a bar-fridge.

You're welcome to bring along personal items, aside from furniture, to make your Charles Sturt accommodation your home away from home.


Some rooms at Charles Sturt include an ensuite, while others have shared bathrooms and toilets. Check the accommodation listing for your chosen campus for details.


The kitchens in our self-catered residences are equipped with a fridge, oven and microwave, along with a separate, lockable cupboard space for each resident. You will need to bring your own crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, pots and pans, and washing-up items.

Catered residences have kitchenettes with a kettle, toaster, fridge and microwave. You can buy meals and snacks at food outlets available at the Wagga Wagga, Bathurst and Orange campuses.

If you’re in self-catered accommodation, also bring cooking utensils, pots and pans, crockery, cutlery, and washing up supplies.


Common rooms, kitchens and bathrooms in all residences are cleaned regularly. But you'll need to clean your own room and contribute to any shared areas by removing your rubbish, keeping the fridge clean, and washing up and putting away utensils after you cook.

Common rooms in all residences are a space to relax and mingle with other residents, and are all equipped with lounges and, televisions.


Washing machines, dryers and clotheslines are available in every residential community, you’ll just need to bring your own pegs and front-loader washing detergent. All usage costs are included in your room rate.

Disability support

We have accessible accommodation on several of our campuses. You can be considered for an accessible room by registering with our Disability Service.

Car Parking

Parking on campus is free! Car parking is available at every campus residential area. There is no extra cost or permits required to park your car or motorbike on campus.



Martin's Albury run services to and from Charles Sturt University and Albury and in and around the city.


Bathurst Buslines has an extensive service in Bathurst.


Dubbo Buslines has an extensive service in and around Dubbo.

Port Macquarie

Busways provides local bus services.

Wagga Wagga

Busabout run services to and from Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga and in and around the city.


Charles Sturt residences are designed to be safe, secure and comfortable spaces for all residents to live and work. The buildings and surrounds are patrolled by Charles Sturt's retained security service, to ensure the safety of students, staff and property. Security is available on call, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Support staff

Charles Sturt University residents have access to supportive and experienced staff who will ensure your stay with us is enjoyable, productive and memorable.

  • Residential Leaders are student leaders responsible for a group of students
  • Residence Life Coordinators assist in the management of residential support and operations
  • The Manager, Residential Operations manages the provision of pastoral care to the student residential community.
